[MonoDevelop] Help me to get started

I am a VB.Net and C# developer. I work on windows platform. I want to work cross platform and I find Mono a n excellent start point.

My major concern is my slow internet connectivity.

I have the current ubuntu and Kubuntu os. I will appreciate it if anyone can ship MonoDevelop development tool kit and any necessary documentation to me on CD. Please I will like to be involved with MonoDevelop using the language am used to on a cross platform.
