This has come up before, but none of the MD core developers use MacOS
(and very few on the mailing list do) so we were unable to provide a
definitive answer.
MonoDevelop uses the common Gettext framework for translation, so
setting LANG=en_US (in the environment from which you launch MD)
should work. If not, I suggest you look up how Gettext works on OS X.
