[MonoDevelop] Double ckicking on an Action produces two functions in the source code.

I am running MD 1.0 with the mono runtime as of 15/07/2008.  I have found that when I double click on an Action in the designer that when I switch back to the source code, I have two versions of the event handler.  Both of them have the same signature etc.  This occurs on all occasions.  I know that a new release (MD 1.9) is available, but as I have had significant problems when building from source I am (still) waiting for the software to end up in the Debian repository, and then I can determine whether this is a problem only for MD 1.0.
Has anybody seen the same (or similar) problem ?
