[MonoDevelop] Not a valid .resources file error

I'm working on migrating a small VS2005 solution with 3 projects into mono
on my opensuse 10.3 box.

I don't get much information on the error:
[Task:File=, Line=0, Column=0, Type=Error, Priority=Normal,
Description=Stream is not a valid .resources file!  It was possibly
truncated.(error)]

I have searched Google a lot and not finding any help.

Can someone point me in a possible fix for this?
