It looks like you somehow have only a partial version of my recent fix :-/

Could you please do a clean rebuild of the gettext addin, refresh the
addin tree (rm -r build/bin/addin*) then update-po again?
Alternatively, you can msgmerge directly from the messages.po
reference catalog, which I keep updated (msgmerge -U nl.po
messages.po).
