You must install the gtk-sharp package separately. I suppose that the openSuSE 
guys have simply forgotten to implement the dep monodevelop -> gtk-sharp. 
Also make sure to install gtkhtml-sharp. You'll need it!!

Try to build an up-to-date Mono and MD from SVN. I'm myself using openSuSE 
10.2, but I've already realized that the Mono RPMs supplied with it are 
sometimes terribly out of date.
