[MonoDevelop] Serious FD Usage Error and Unstable MonoDevelop

Can someone please help me with this ?  I have a recent (about a week old of both MD and Mono) and I am finding it to be quite unstable to say the least.  I have just had two crashes, causing the loss of work, in the last five minutes - both with Serious FD Usage errors - this time 15 and 8.  It is not the first time that I have had this problem - but the frequency of crashing is increasing and I do not know why.  So, some help in this matter would be much appreciated so that I can once again work in MD with confidence.
