[MonoDevelop] Things MonoDevelop might not support

Here's my situation - I am attempting to write a book on platform
independent game programming using C# and all my development for both
writing words and the supporting code is under MonoDevelop.

Some interesting things happen (and this may also happen in VS as well,
I've not tried.)

For example: MonoDevelop doesn't see any of my word processing files. I
thought that perhaps I could add them, mark them as non-compilable, but
at least have the chapters in with the code that supports them, make
them part of the sebuversion repository, etc.

Am I just missing something in the configuration or options, or is this
just something that MD doesn't support at all?
