[MonoDevelop] Mono development

I'm planning to help monodevelop project, fixing some bugs or writing addIn, 
i have this question:
Is Monodevelop self-hosted? I mean, it is a monodevelop solution to 
monodevelop?
By this way i could have a stable release of mono (which i already have) and 
a source release, and use the great futures of monodevelop within developing 
monodevelop too.
