[MonoDevelop] Branching MD 1.0

Hi,

Next week we plan to tag MD beta 3, and it would be a good idea to
create a 1.0 branch at this point. This branch will be what we are going
to ship in MD 1.0 (after fixing bugs). Development of new features can
continue on trunk, only bug fixes will be allowed in the branch.

The plan would be to use the branch only for the 1.0 release. After the
release, we might do some maintenance releases out of the branch if we
need to fix important bugs, but development would continue on trunk. The
next stable release would be MD 1.1 around the summer (from trunk).

Thoughts?
