[MonoDevelop] Illegal Instruction

Hello,

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I've looked for it online but
haven't found a clear answer yet.

I am running Mac OS X with gtk and gnome installed by macports and all
mono and csharp apps and libraries installed by source.  When I try
and run monodevelop from X11 I get "Illegal instruction" and nothing
else.

I'm new to mono / monodevelop, what would be useful for debugging this problem?
