You can configure it to another --prefix, and them copy the resulting
addin subfolder to your main MD instalation, but I think things get
messy on the dependencies (that probably have to be installed in both
prefixes, or some judicious reordering/completion of many ***PATH
environment variables may be needed before configuring for the
secondary prefix.
