I agree that this way it can get messy.

It is possible to add extension objects to an XsltArgumentList. This allow
you to add a specific C# class and call a public method from the class
within the xslt. The solution here might be to add GettextCatalog to the
XsltArgumentList, which in turn will allow us to call GetString within the
xslt.
