[MonoDevelop] MD Freeze

Hey All,
  I know the menu designer doesn't yet work, but I am still able to drop
a menu container onto a window in design view.  I had planned to add the
menu container, then programmatically add menu items at run time. 
However, when there is a menu container on the form, and I add a
toolbar: When I try adding a toolbar button to the toolbar, MD freezes
solid and never recovers.  I invoke MD from the command line, and
nothing is written to stdout.  
  I wouldn't mind leaving the menu container out altogether at design
time, then adding the entire menu container + all menu items at run
time, but I cannot figure out how to change the position so it is the
first item in a VBox - any ideas?  Also, any timeframe for a menu
designer?
