I'm running monodevelop 0.11, and there isn't a fixed container their
either. 

But my problem with stetic isn't the lack of a fixed container, it's the
fact that the look and feel of the GTk# combo boxes is really poor.For
example, if you use the combo box it displays an ugly sliding panel that
goes above and below the selection component, and if you have a large
number of items it can take over the entire screen, I have a similar
complaint about the combo entry box. 

My other complaint is the lack of settings available through the
designer.
