[MonoDevelop] Running a .NET 2.0 assembly from MonoDevelop

On my debian-packaged 0.12-Version it also works great.

But I was having the same problem before and was confused by the
following statement at:

http://www.monodevelop.com/FAQ#Can_I_compile_my_project_with_gmcs.3F

"Not currently through MonoDevelop. You could use the alias command to
set mcs = gmcs, but this is not tested or supported."

afaik one has to use gmcs in order to compile .Net2.0 assemblies.
and i think that's exactly what monodevelop does if you set the runtime
options to 2.0 instead of 1.1.

Would be great if someone who has an account would correct the above
FAQ-Entry.
