You make sure that you have gtk-sourceview and perhaps
gtk-sourceview-dev installed.

By the way, what do you mean that you have "no syntax highlighting in
editor for code extensions"? Do you have syntax highlighting for your
normal projects (just create one)? If you do, disregard this email as
your problem is somewhere else.
