That seems to have been it, thanks. I guess .NET on Windows was letting it
slide this whole time. All attributes from the calendar control were
lowercased, it must have been an artifact of the VS.NET designer.

I'm not sure it warrants a bug, since my code was incorrect. A
cross-platform porting FAQ perhaps?
