[MonoDevelop] Monodevelop hanging while opening a .csproj

Hello all,

I am trying to use Monodevelop IDE to import a Visual
Studio .Net project.
I tried to import .sln file and nothing is coming in
the screen. But a .cmbx file is created. When i tried
to open this also, nothing happens.
When I tried to open .csproj file, the "File to open"
window as well as the IDE hangs. But a .prjx file is
created. When I try to open this file also application
hangs.
Please let me know if this is the right way to achieve
this.
