Sure, I'm using SliknesS-Dark from  
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS?content=71993 , and 
yeap the problem is all kind of controls, but the DESKTOP_SESSION=KDE 
nasty trick works perfectly ;-) , no ideal, but at least it keep me safe 
from the risky mono 2.6 update :-)
