[Mono-winforms-list] works with mono 1.2.6 but not with 1.9 on linux

[toshCA2008]

I get a blank GUI when I run the compiled (via gmcs) c# winforms app using
mono 1.9 and 1.9.1 
The GUI works if I use mono 1.2.6.

I've searched through the forum and have not found any clues.  Could someone
please help.
trying in FC8.
