So, I did reach runtime but now I'll give up.

I did find some evil rpms that I removed, recompiled libgdiplus and wrote a 
silly app showing a label. Did compile, did not run.
Browsed the web fopr Hello Worlds and did a cut'n paste of the code (could 
be me of course, I'm a Java man not C# man).
Did compile but did not run, always the:

Unhandled Exception: System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was 
thrown by the type initializer for
System.Windows.Forms.XplatUI ---> System.TypeInitializationException: An 
exception was thrown by the type initializer for
System.Drawing.GDIPlus ---> System.DllNotFoundException: gdiplus.dll

Doesn't look like it actually find any gdiplus?

Well, I'll drop it for now,m thanks for all the help and patience. I'll take 
another look on it in a couple of months, maybe if
there will be any tar.gz release of code so that you could try ot 
Labels/Texts/Buttons? Would be nice, since there wil be some
C-Sharp going on at my job, I'd for sure prefer to do the coding on my 
penguin box.
