Yes, understood, the main work as I said will be setting up the events to be
fed. I understand you want to feed that into cairo, no problem :-) it is
only a personal preference of mine to add a little diversity to an
implementation quite early in the cycle to find out where it needs some
unexpected flexibility, before building on top of it.
