Something similar has been suggested before.  The only problem is that
I'd need to hack up the scripts that generate the web download pages to
handle this case.

But, since the binaries are available in the noarch rpm, this item has
been on the back burner.

Seems equivalent whether you put the noarch rpm in Source1: or the zip
file.
