Well that is new to me, never saw VB templates for MonoDevelop. But
you can try using those available in the windows-only SharpDevelop,
maybe with some twicks.

Well, just throwing as much vb code at mbas as you can possibly write
or use, and filling well-thought (that means clearly stated and with
compilable source-fragments to test) bugzilla cases for any problem
you've found that you can put the blame on mbas/
If you would like to go further, you could diagnose the
compiler/runtime code and offer some patch attached to the bugzilla
