[mono-packagers] Mono builds for Linux

Hello,

I started a discussion on the mono mailinglist

The topic is how the Mono project could provide official packages,
that install a parallel mono environment with an uptodate version of
mono / monodevelop for Linux alongside the stable and trusted versions
of mono that are part of the distribution.

I was made aware of this mailinglist.
