[Mono-osx] Using AppleEvents

I'm trying to reproduce some Carbon code in MonoMac. 
It uses AppleEvent, AECreateDesc, AECreateAppleEvent, AEPutParamPtr, AESend,
AEGetParamPtr, and AEDisposeDesc.

I can find NSAppleEventDescriptor, but none of the other things I need.

Is there a way to deal with AppleEvents?
