[Mono-osx] mkbundle error on Snow Leopard with --static option (mono 2.10.2)

As I asked in this StackOverflow post
(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6442223/an-issue-when-running-mono-2-10-2-mkbundle-on-mac-os-x-snow-leopard),
I could build Mac standalone binary with mkbundle without --static option.

 * I could build a binary with --deps and -z option. Does that make the
binary to run on any Mac not mono installed?
 * What's --static option for? What makes it different from the --deps
option that imports all the mono dependencies?
 * How can I use --static option with Snow Leopard? Is this known issue?
 * I also googled to learn about 'mkbundle2' which I cannot find on my mono
install (2.10.2). Is mkbundle2 not included with mono 2.10.2?
