Hi!
I am currently trying to install gnugo (go - a board game app) and I'm
stuck.
Following the instructions, I typed:
./configure make
and got the result:
configure: WARNING: you should use --build, --host, --target
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... no
checking for mawk... no
checking for nawk... no
checking for awk... awk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for make-gcc... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for make-cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for make-cl.exe... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
I've installed monodevelop, and I thought it should be able to compile C.
I've read suggestions that say one should install xcode, but if possible I
rather not.
By the way, I'm a complete beginner at this!
