[Mono-osx] Are WinForms known to be really slow?

When I open a new dialog in my WinForms app on OSX running Mono 1.9.1
controls appear individually at a rate of a few per second, with even very
simply forms that are comprised of only a couple dozen controls taking about
3 seconds to appear one control at a time. More complex interfaces can take
15 seconds to appear. For comparison, running the same app on a relatively
similar PC under Microsoft's .NET Framework, even the more complex
interfaces appear in a fraction of a second, with simpler ones appearing
instantaneously.

My question is, are WinForms known to be really slow on OSX at this time?

Thanks!
