Have you heard of macpack? It's distributed with Mono on Mac OS X. Sounds
like it's what you're looking for. No need to reinvent the wheel. I don't
think anyone suggested it initially because I think you said you wanted the
.app to include Mono within it in your OP, and macpack won't do that. But, if
you've backed off that, then macpack is what you should be looking at.
