[Mono-list] .NET Core

Hi,

I'm a little bit confused about .NET Core. At first, I thought it was going
to be just an open-source implementation of the BCL, and that the Mono
project was going to contribute to parts of it and adopt other parts as
well. I thought it was going to be something transparent for the
application programmer.

However, I've checked it out recently and you can install it, it seems that
it includes a compiler, and Visual Studio Code is the recommended IDE to go
with.

I know that Xamarin is focused in mobile development, but I wonder if
MonoDevelop is going to still be developed or not; whether Xamarin
recommends Mono and MonoDevelop or change to .NET Core and Visual Studio
Code... any hint?
