[Mono-list] HTTP 500 error while accessing a webservice developed in asp.net from RHEL with Mono installed

Hi,
I am new to linux and Mono.I have a simple webservice developed in asp.net using visual studio.I want to host this on a linux apache httpd server.
My setup details:linux version - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.7 (Santiago)Mono version - 4.2.2  (Stable 4.2.2.30/996df3c Wed Feb 10 07:32:46 EST 2016)
I publish this webservice using xsp4 and access from a browser, I see the error:System.InvalidProgramExceptionInvalid IL code in System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory:GetHandler (System.Web.HttpContext,string,string,string): IL_0000: ret
Any suggestions on what is going wrong here?
I have a sample website developed in asp.net using visual studio. This website when published using xsp4, and accessed from browser it displays the content of default page.
