With regards to it prints nothing:
Even if applications linked with mkbundle do not get a console, I was
running my program inside a console. I opened up a console window and put in
the command to run my program, which then printed nothing. I can give the
-mwindow option a try and see if that fixes it. 

With regards to boehm:
If I go take a look inside my mono lib folder, which I assume mkbundle links
against, there is clearly a libboehm.a file, which would be a static
library. There is also a libboehm.dll.a file and possibly a few others. Are
you saying it links against all of those files instead of just linking
against one? If it picks one, I don't see why it can't just link against the
static library.
