You need to file a bug with ubuntu for this.

Um, build the application in monodevelop/xamarin.studio. This creates an 
.exe file which mono then can run. On a Linux distro, you'll need to 
write some sort of script to execute it and have that live in 
/usr/local/bin (or /usr/bin or /opt or wherever you want to put it)
