[Mono-list] Newbe - page transfer not working

I am new to mono have done MS .net stuff for years.  I am working on a site
that I changed a Server.Transfer to a new page that I created when the code
executes it is still going to the old page. Why? 
I changed one string in the code behind uploaded the file and nothing.  Are
pages compiled upon instantiating like MS .net?
