[Mono-list] HRESULT E_FAIL Error

I've created my first custom widget and am trying to test it in a gtk#
application.  When I run the application I'm getting a "Error HRESULT
E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component" error.  The
application's main window gets generated and shown, but the window's
OnShown() event is never fired.  Does anyone know what that error
means?
