[Mono-list] String comparisons slow

Exactly. Once Windows build gets stable, I'd run make run-test-ondotnet 
and see what's broken under 4.0 profile. I'm even not sure if it builds 
now though (I'll update my working copy only when I'm almost sure that 
it builds, as it's usually broken).
