Hello,
A few answers:
1) MonoDevelop (http://monodevelop.com/), which is light and fast, but
doesn't have all the features of Visual Studio.
3) Not all of it. Off the top of my head: no WPF support, LINQ to DB isn't
finished, and WCF is partial. You'll find unimplemented bits here and there.
Quick overview: http://www.mono-project.com/Compatibility
For more info: http://go-mono.com/status/
5) It depends on your Linux distribution. You may already have everything
installed, some missing bits, or nothing at all (and components split
differently depending on distributions, too). If you still haven't chosen
your Linux distribution, I suggest openSUSE, which makes it easy to work
with Mono.
7) Yes. Solutions / projects are compatible between MonoDevelop and Visual
Studio.
It's just that if you use libraries that aren't available in the .NET
framework (such as GTK# or Mono APIs), then you'll need to add / install the
needed assemblies for your program to work on Windows.
You should be able to find answers to your other questions by looking /
searching around.
