Welcome to Linux world, RPM is package which install like windows :-)
The official download page is
http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html .
But, as Nagappan suggest you, it is better to use RPM specially build
for your distribution, Opensuse 11.1 :-)
At least, you can find several newest version of Mono :
