Visual Basic.NET will run under Mono, which is Visual Basic >= 7.0.

I suspect that your Visual Basic DLL isn't a .NET DLL, and thus won't
run under Mono.  It might be usable under Wine; you'd have to test it.

It's possible to interact with OpenOffice.org, so you could use Writer
to perform the mail merge...
