[Mono-list] Can I use mono on OSX86 to edit my windows based .NET projects?

As the titles indicates...

For instance can I take the YetAnotherForum project and edit code, recompile
and post those changes to a windows server that has the vanilla ASP.NET
framework (i.e. no mono fix).

Essentially I would to use my MAC as the development platform while using a
vanilla IIS server to run my .NET application.

Is this possible with Mono or do I need to patch the IIS server.
