[Mono-list] installing runtime only

Hello community!

How can an user to install only the runtime of mono, to execute
applications? Similar to installing dotnetfx.exe in windows, I get only
the .NET executable, for running .NET applications in windows without
installing all .NET framework SDK.

How can I to get this in GNU/Linux? If i compile and install mono from
sources, I get the runtime, also compilers, debugger, etc. To an common
user this task may be too hard, so this is my question: It's possible to
install the runtime only of mono? and how?
