If you mean not problematic for building Mono, I agree.

However, if the version you use to build Mono is then built into
the binary distribution of Mono, it becomes available for use
in writing applications. That's what I see as problematic.

IMO, there should be a distinction between the NUnit you use
to build Mono - call it the bootstrap NUnit - and the NUnit
that runs on top of Mono for use by folks developing applications.

If that separation is once made, I think it can then become very 
easy to upgrade the application version, when needed.
