[Mono-list] Looking for advice on accessing MySQL database

It turns out that I has a network issue after all.  Our domain admin changed
some policies that reset Windows firewall without telling any of us.  I had
been able to ping from the VM to my host fine but I just installed telnet on
openSuse and cannot connect to 3306 from the VM (even though I can do this
fine from the Windows host).  All of my ADO.Net code appears to be running
fine under Mono now that I've gotten things put back to the way they were. 
Thank you to everone who replied; hopefully this will help someone else in
the future.
