[Mono-list] DotNet Remoting

I'm trying to get the server portion of a client/server app that uses DotNet
remoting (and sometimes TCP/IP communications) running on Linux using Mono
(Novell's version of Dotnet for Linux.)

My development environment is Windows Vista running VMWare - which runs a
version of Open Suse 10.3. I've got a couple of simple (c#) client/server
apps for testing, one uses DotNet remoting and the other TCP/IP sockets for
communications. They both run fine as long as both the client & server are
on the same OS - i.e. both on Linux or both on Vista. I can't get them to
communicate if the server is in one OS and the client is running on the
other OS. I've tried all 4 combinations. I've turned off my Firewall on
Vista, When I try to use YaST to turn the firewall off on Linux - I can't
find any reference to a firewall.

On VMWare, I've got the ethernet set up to use NaT (Bridged, or host-only
are my other two options.) I can access the internet from both OS's, and
both OS's can ping the other.

PS Much thanks to whoever made the VMWare Player Image - What a sweet way to
get going!
