Hi,
I'm a developer who has been ordered to take a client/server C# (dotNet
Remoting) app developed for Windows and get it working (first just the
server component) working on Linux.
I would like to use Mono and port what we've got rather than re-write the
whole thing, but I'm no expert on Linux or Mono.
There is a little money in the budget for some outside help. Specifically I
need help with:
1 - general porting issues (e.g. who do the Registry manipulating code work
on Linux, best practices for debugging, etc.
2 - getting cross-platform communications working (TCP/IP & DotNet remoting)
configuring firewalls, etc.
3 - sound issues - please see my other post on playing .mp3 files
If you're an expert in any of these areas and can help, please respond.
Thanks!
