[Mono-list] how to compile a project with non-ascii source files

I tried to compile a Visual C# 2005 project that has non ascii source files
(variables and some literal strings contain Chinese characters) via
monodevelop, but the Chinese characters confuses the mono-gmcs.  What
options I can pass to mono / monodevelop so that it can treat non-ascii
variables and literal strings correctly?
