[Mono-list] Moonlight/Ajax Guidance

I am still trying to figure out exactly what the relationship between 
Silverlight 2.0/Moonlight and Ajax is. Given a web services project 
delivering Ajax-style behavior to the browser due late Q4'08, what is 
the preferred combination of platforms: Mono and Ajax (using 
VS2008/Net2.0 restricted for development) or Mono and Moonlight (using ? 
for development)?
