I was planning on using OpenSUSE's Build Service, which has the
advantage of creating packages for multiple distros at once.

I agree that teaching people to fish is better, but I want to be able to
test a bunch of software without having to do the work every time to get
the stuff running.

So lets consider this some "bootstrap" for the community.
